[Properties] It is white powder, density 2.75, moisture absorptive, not soluble in alcohol, slightly soluble in water, decomposed in alkali solution, producing fluorides and silicon dioxide, decomposed into sodium fluoride and silicon tetra-fluoride when heated at 300 oC .
[Uses] As cream coloring agent of glass and ceramic, antiseptic of wood, agricultural insecticide, moisture absorbing agent for acid-resistant cement, freezing agent for acid-resistant daub, fluorination treatment for drinking water.
